Mallam Bashir Ibrahim Dabo , the new Maga Isan Zazzau, was born on the 14th of September 1985 - equivalent to 28th Dhul-Haji, 1405 After Hijra. He is a prince from the geneology of the second Fulani Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Yamusa - founder of the Bare-Bari ruling clan. Through his father's maternal line, he came from a distinguished lineage of Wazirin Sokoto Gidado - the Grand Vizier of Shehu Usman Danfodio.
Mallam Bashir is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in International Studies in 2008.
Thereafter, he went further to obtain two master's degrees in International Business and Management from the University of Bedfordshire, Luton, United Kingdom, and a master's in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria respectively.
The new Maga Isan Zazzau has also attended numerous courses from different institutions within and outside Nigeria, including Executive Education certificates on Strategy, Adaptive Leadership, Emerging Leaders, and Voice of Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School; the London Business School; and the Aga Khan University, Nairobi.
He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Administrators of Nigeria and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Ibrahim Dabo Centre for Entrepreneurship and Community Development.
Mallam Bashir Ibrahim Dabo began his public service career at the Federal College of Education, Zaria as an Assistant Registrar in October 2012. After a brief stint in the College, he left in June 2015 to join the services of Kaduna State Government under the administration of His Excellency, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, CON, as Special Assistant to the Governor on News.
Not long into the services of Kaduna State Government, Mallam Bashir pitched a new career with the Nigerian Ports Authority where he served as the Personal Assistant to the Managing Director/CEO Hadiza Bala Usman from 2016-2022.
The new Maga Isa currently works with the Special Adviser to the Nigerian President on Policy and Coordination,
and Head, Central Results Delivery and Coordination Unit, Hadiza Bala
Usman.
He has traveled widely to many countries. He is happily married and blessed with three children.
