FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE, ZARIA AREA COMMAND RESPONDS PROMPTLY TO FIRE OUTBREAK; SAVES PROPERTY WORTH ₦11.5 MILLION

The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Zaria Area Command, responded promptly to a fire outbreak on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at about 12:16 hours, at No. 10 Nakwama Street, Magume, Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In  a Press release issued by ASF II Kamaluddeen Shehu, Public Relations Officer of the Command said, the incident, which was attributed to carelessness, affected a seven-room residential building belonging to Malam Abdulrahman Haruna, covering an estimated area of 50 × 30 meters.

Upon receipt of a distress call from AIF Anas Sani of the Federal Fire Service, Sabon Gari Station, gallant officers of the Zaria Area Command immediately mobilized to the scene. Under the able leadership of DSF Yusuf Muhammad, the firefighting team deployed one medium jet from Fire Appliance 195 and successfully contained and extinguished the fire.

The prompt and professional response of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining structures, thereby saving properties estimated at ₦11.5 million.

According to Abdulrahman Haruna who happened to be an eyewitness disclosed that the fire was caused by an unattended cooking that lead to the spread of across the premises, prompting an immediate call to the Federal Fire Service, Sabon Gari Station.

No casualties were recorded, and no loss of life occurred during the incident.

The Federal Fire Service, Zaria Area Command, reiterates its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, in line with its vision of producing proficient firefighters and its mission of ensuring public safety through effective fire prevention, control, and mitigation.
