The Personal Assistant to the Executive Governor of Taraba State on Administration and Political Affairs, Barrister Luka Agbu, has described unity and cultural harmony as essential pillars for national peace and development.
Barrister Luka made the remarks while speaking at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of his close associate and mentor, the Marafan Yamman Zazzau, Alhaji Mustapha Adamu Ubaidu, held in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The event attracted dignitaries, traditional title holders, community leaders, and guests who travelled from Taraba State and other parts of northern Nigeria to witness the celebration.
The governor’s aide, who is also a prominent traditional title holder, introduced himself as the Sarkin Mukaddas of Abaji in Abuja (First-Class Chiefdom Title); the Dan Amana of Akwanaja in Nasarawa State (Second-Class Chiefdom Title); and the Dan Maliki of Damba, Majidadin Sarkin Kudu, and Jakada of the Muri Emirate in Taraba State.
He explained that his attendance was both personal and cultural, stressing the importance of strengthening longstanding relationships among northern communities to promote love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence across the country.
“History does not lie, and bonds like this show that we can build a more united nation,” he said.
Addressing the newlyweds, Barrister Luka congratulated the couple and offered prayers for a blessed marriage.
He urged them to build their home on faith, patience, and mutual understanding, noting that each partner comes from a different background and must take time to appreciate each other’s strengths while addressing shortcomings with wisdom and tolerance.
He further advised them to:
Rely on Allah Almighty, who brought them together, Seek God’s guidance in all their affairs, and Exercise patience with one another to build a strong and peaceful family.
Barrister Luka also expressed optimism that the union would raise generations worthy of celebration, adding that the community would one day gather again to share in future milestones such as naming ceremonies and birthdays.
The ceremony featured colourful cultural displays, goodwill messages, and a strong show of solidarity among guests—reflecting the diversity and unity of northern traditions.
