The Federal Fire Service, Zaria Area Command, responded promptly to a fire outbreak in the early hours of Tuesday, February 03, 2026, at about 05:10 hours, at Sabon Gari Modern Market, Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
In a Press release issued by ASF II Kamaluddeen Shehu, Public Relations Officer of the Command said, the fire outbreak, which was caused by a solar power system explosion, affected Shop No. 22, Block D1, belonging to Mr. Zaharaddeen Musa Ahmad and used for commercial purposes. The affected shop covered an estimated area of 3 × 3 square metres.
Upon receipt of a distress call from Mr. Ibrahim Musa, firefighting personnel were immediately deployed to the scene under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent of Fire (ASF) Ibrahim Salisu.
The crew swiftly and effectively deployed one medium jet from Fire Appliance FFS 195, successfully containing and extinguishing the fire.
The timely intervention of the Federal Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining shops, thereby saving properties valued at approximately ₦16 million.
No casualties or loss of life were recorded.
