Tazkiyah University held its maiden matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The historic event, held at the university’s multi-purpose hall, formally admitted 120 pioneer students into the institution under the programmes of Allied Health Sciences, Management and Social Sciences, and Science and Computing.
In his address, the Proprietor and Founder, Professor Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari, described the ceremony as a defining moment and a dream fulfilled.
He noted that the university was established with a clear vision to raise generations of women who are intellectually sound, morally upright, and positively impactful in society.
He emphasized that the institution is the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa, dedicated to female education within a value-driven academic environment.
According to him, the pioneer students are not just learners but “history makers” whose conduct will shape the culture and legacy of the university for generations to come.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faruk Sarkin Fada, highlighted the global recognition of women’s education and noted that the establishment of the university aligns with international efforts to promote girls’ access to safe and quality education.
He explained that the university’s vision is to produce globally competitive graduates equipped with knowledge, character, and leadership capacity.
He added that the admission policy reflects national integration, as the pioneer cohort includes students from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, reinforcing peaceful coexistence and unity.
Also speaking, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, who was represented by the Madakin Gonan Zazzau, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Bamalli commended the Proprietor for establishing the historic institution in Zaria and encouraged the students to combine academic pursuit with skill acquisition to support their families and communities in the future.
He reaffirmed the Emirate’s strong support for educational initiatives, particularly those promoting women’s development and empowerment.
In a vote of thanks, Board of Trustees member and Registrar of NBAIS, Professor Yahuza Sulaiman, appreciated the Proprietor, management, staff, parents, and guests for contributing to the success of the ceremony.
He congratulated the matriculating students and urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to excellence.
Khadijah Nuraddeen Usman and Mariya Auwal, who are among the newly admitted students today, expressed their happiness and pledged to abide by the rules and regulations of the university.
The ceremony marked a major milestone in the history of the university, underscoring its mission to combine academic excellence with moral upbringing, innovation, and service to humanity.
