A lawmaker representing Zaria City Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly has facilitated employment opportunities for more than 200 youths and women in Zaria Local Government Area within less than three years in office.

This was disclosed at a programme held at Government Secondary School, Kofar Doka, also known as ELSA College, Zaria, where 15 appointment letters were presented to beneficiaries, former members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) were formally received into the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Uba Sani–APC Door-to-Door Campaign Organisation was inaugurated ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the occasion, Chairman of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, Malam Lawal Mohammed Usman Mai Elser, highlighted some of the lawmaker’s achievements in less than three years, particularly in education, youth and women empowerment, assistance to less-privileged people, healthcare, and other areas of community development.

He said the latest intervention had provided employment opportunities for 15 people from different agencies, bringing the total number of youths assisted through the initiative to 245, following an earlier intervention involving 30 beneficiaries.

Malam Lawal described the lawmaker as a champion who was willing to sacrifice his personal wealth and resources for the betterment of his constituents, saying his interventions had made a positive difference in the lives of many people.

Also speaking, the member representing Zaria City Constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Mahmud Lawal Isma'il, said that his commitment to youth empowerment was inspired by the leadership style of his political mentor and the principle of using political office to improve the lives of ordinary people.

The lawmaker, who is also the Chairman of the Kaduna State House of Assembly Committee on Education, said his interventions were in line with promises made during the electioneering campaign to support the APC manifesto and replicate positive initiatives of the party’s leaders.

He cited a recent empowerment programme through which more than 450 students graduated from a skills-acquisition programme, with the beneficiaries also receiving financial support and start-up capital.

According to him, such initiatives demonstrate the importance of leadership that prioritises human development, adding that he would continue to support programmes that create opportunities for youths and women and encourage their participation in political and community activities.

He expressed appreciation to his constituents and members of the public who had acknowledged his interventions, saying their positive feedback would encourage him to do more.

On the Political Development ,the lawmaker said the formal reception of former ADC members into the APC was an opportunity to welcome them, appreciate their decision, and encourage them to work closely with the party to achieve its objectives.

He said the APC remained committed to implementing its programmes and policies, adding that the achievements of the administration would continue to be communicated to the people to strengthen confidence in the party.

The lawmaker also urged APC leaders, stakeholders, and support groups to work together and mobilise support towards the actualisation of the party’s objectives in the 2027 elections.

He expressed optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections, stressing the need for party members to remain united and committed.

The newly inaugurated Uba Sani–APC Door-to-Door Campaign Organisation is expected to mobilise voters and strengthen grassroots support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The occasion was witnessed by traditional title holders, representatives of the APC leadership in Zaria Local Government Area, APC elders, politicians, students, and other stakeholders, who commended the lawmaker’s leadership style.

They described his approach to representation as different from that of many other lawmakers and commended his efforts in education, employment, youth and women empowerment, healthcare, and community development.
