A Zaria-based Non-Governmental Organization, Isiyaku Danraka Care Foundation, has commenced the training of 150 youths in various vocational skills aimed at empowering them to become self-reliant.
The training programme, which runs from August 27 to September 4, 2025, will expose participants to trades such as shoe-making, bag production, and other handcrafts. Sessions are held daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with free lunch provided for all participants.
Speaking during the opening of the programme, Engr. Balarabe Musa, Garkuwan Ayyukan Zazzau, urged the trainees to take full advantage of the opportunity, describing them as “lucky beneficiaries” of a life-changing initiative. He encouraged them to pay close attention during the training in order to gain maximum benefit.
The foundation, under the leadership of Isiyaku Mustapha Danraka, has also been active in other community development efforts, including scholarships for underprivileged students in Zaria.
“With these initiatives, iDanraka Care Foundation is demonstrating its commitment to empowering youths, promoting inclusivity, and supporting sustainable community development,” Engr. Musa said.
