In a major boost to youth empowerment, 150 young men and women have graduated from the iDANRAKA Care Foundation’s skills acquisition programme, aimed at tackling unemployment and reducing social vices in the society.
The graduation ceremony, held at Rafin Albasa Primary School, Kofar Kuyambana, Zaria, at the weekend, was graced by the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, who hailed the foundation’s founder, Town Planner Isiyaku Danraka, for transforming lives through practical training and financial support.
Represented by Garkuwan Ayyukan Zazzau, Engr. Balarabe Musa, the Emir urged other well-meaning individuals to emulate the initiative, noting that such programmes would drastically reduce crime and promote self-reliance. He also advised the beneficiaries to remain committed to growing the skills they had acquired.
The Emir further requested that the newly trained youths be brought to his palace for royal blessings.
Speaking at the event, Captain Dayyabu Danraka, who announced that his DOUBLE D Foundation will sponsor an additional 100 youths, said he was impressed by the transformation achieved within just nine days of intensive training. He praised the Danraka family for their collective support of the initiative, encouraging the graduates to become employers rather than job seekers.
Also present was the Director-General of the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), Dr. Kabiru Mu’azu, who pledged to collaborate with iDANRAKA Care Foundation, especially in areas such as football production and other technical trainings.
Highlighting the foundation’s commitment, Professor Saminu Isiyaku of Ahmadu Bello University, representing the founder, Isiyaku Danraka announced cash support of ₦30,000 each for the top 10 trainees in three categories, while the remaining 120 beneficiaries received ₦20,000 each to kickstart their ventures.
“Similarly, beneficiaries Safiya Aliyu and Idris Abdullahi Danraka expressed their gratitude to the iDANRAKA Care Foundation for the skills they received, prayed for the foundation’s leader, and expressed satisfaction in becoming self-reliant.”
