The Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council in Kaduna State, Hon. Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, will empower a total of 350 youths and women drawn from the council's 13 wards for digital business.
The event will take place in Zaria tomorrow - Sunday, 2nd October, 2025 - in commemoration of Engr. Muhammad's 1st anniversary as Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council.
According to the programme, each beneficiary will be provided with a Point of Sales (POS) machine, log book and certificate, as well as branded shirt and PCap in addition to N50,000 running capital after the training.
The training, aimed at making the beneficiaries self employed, will be conducted by Double-Click Ventures, a digital financial inclusion business company based in Kaduna.
The empowerment programme is essentially in recognition that digital economy is one of the fastest growing business with micro capital investment.
The training will be anchored by business relationship managers who are highly recommended professionals in the Fintech industry.
After the training, the beneficiaries are expected to be self employed and be exposed to digital marketing.
This is in addition to knowing how to use social media handles to enlighten the people of the area on the good work both the Council and Kaduna State government are doing for humanity.
Meanwhile, the Zaria Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, will today - Saturday, 1st November, 2025 - launch a 'Free Eye Medical Outreach' as part of activities marking his one year in office.
The programme, under Community Eye Health Outreach, will take place at Youth Centre, opposite Police Station, Tudun Wada, Zaria.
This is even as the Chairman last week went round the council's 13 wards where he boosted over 150 petty traders and small business owners with N10,000 each.
The gesture is largely seen as a deliberate effort aimed at uplifting roadside hawkers, petty traders, and hardworking entrepreneurs who keep the council's economy alive everyday.
