The Rector of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Engr. Dr. Mohammed Kabir Abdullahi, has approved a reduction in students’ hostel accommodation fees from 10,000 to 6,090 as part of the institution’s effort to improve students’ welfare and learning conditions.
Dr. Abdullahi said the decision was taken to ease the financial burden on students and ensure that every student has access to decent and affordable accommodation within the institution.
He explained that the management remains committed to providing a conducive environment that promotes both academic excellence and students’ comfort.
The Polytechnic’s Head of Career Services and Polytechnic Advancement, Engr. Aliyu Musa Kofa, who spoke on behalf of the Rector, described the move as part of a broader reform to promote students’ well-being and support the ongoing educational development agenda of the Kaduna State Government.
“The Rector’s leadership has continued to prioritise students’ welfare and academic development. This reduction in hostel fees reflects his compassion and commitment to making education accessible to all,” Engr. Kofa said.
The Rector also commended the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for his administration’s intervention in the renovation and upgrading of students’ hostels across the Polytechnic’s Main Campus and Gaskiya Annex, Zaria.
The hostels were recently refurbished, furnished, and given a facelift under the support of the state government, aimed at improving living standards and promoting academic excellence.
“We are sincerely grateful to Governor Uba Sani for his continued commitment to the education sector and for his tangible support to Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic,” the Rector said.
He noted that the collaboration between the Polytechnic and the Kaduna State Government has significantly contributed to the institution’s steady growth and development.
Meanwhile, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic has released its admission list for the 2025/2026 academic session, advising all newly admitted students to proceed with registration as lectures are set to commence soon.
The management also informed students that applications for the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) have commenced. It encouraged qualified students to apply for the federal education loan to support their studies and reduce financial stress.
The Polytechnic management reaffirmed its dedication to providing quality technical education, modern facilities, and an environment that supports learning, research, and innovation.
