FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE, ZARIA AREA COMMAND PROMPTLY CONTAINS FIRE OUTBREAK; ₦12.5 MILLION PROPERTY SAVED

The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Zaria Area Command, responded swiftly to a fire outbreak on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at about 15:12 hours at Layin Nakwama, Magume, Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In  a Press release issued by ASF II Kamaluddeen Shehu, Public Relations Officer of the Command said, the fire, whose cause is yet to be determined, affected eight residential rooms covering an estimated area of 50 × 100 metres, belonging to Alhaji Bako Zuntu.

Following a distress call received from Mr. Sabi’u Sani, firefighters were immediately deployed to the scene under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent of Fire (ASF II) Yunusa Umar. 

The crew utilized one medium jet from Fire Appliance 195 to successfully contain and extinguish the fire.

The timely and professional intervention of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby structures, thereby saving properties valued at approximately ₦12.5 million.

An eyewitness confirmed that smoke was first noticed before the fire escalated, commending the Federal Fire Service for its swift and effective response.

No casualties or loss of life were recorded.
