ABU Zaria Inducts 108 Radiography and Medical Laboratory Science Graduates at Second Ceremony

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has held its second induction ceremony for graduates of Medical Radiography and Medical Laboratory Science.

A total of 47 Radiography graduates and 50 Medical Laboratory Science graduates were inducted. In addition, 11 Radiography graduates who were trained abroad were also inducted alongside those who completed their studies at ABU.

The oath was administered on behalf of the Registrar of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN), Professor Mark Okeji, and was represented by the Head of the Department of Radiography, Dr. Malachy Ejimofor. 

In his remarks, he expressed satisfaction with the graduates and urged them to serve as worthy ambassadors of their profession and alma mater by upholding professional ethics and standards.

Professor Rafin DaÉ—i, who represented the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Professor Adamu Ahmed called on the newly inducted professionals to practice with honesty, integrity, and dedication. 

He also commended the lecturers for their commitment to training the students and wished the graduates success in their future careers.

At the end of the ceremony, lecturers and students were honoured for excellence and dedication. 

Among the award recipients was RAD Gwani Fatima Umar, who expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to successfully complete their studies and begin professional practice. She also appreciated her parents, lecturers, and the university management for their unwavering support.

Another graduate, Rad. Musa Muhammad Kabir, expressed deep appreciation to Almighty God for enabling him to complete his studies and be inducted as a professional radiographer from ABU Zaria. 

He thanked his parents for their patience and prayers and extended special appreciation to the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, for the monthly educational support he received, which significantly contributed to his academic success. 

He added that the achievement was a collective one and prayed for abundant rewards for all who supported him.

The ceremony took place at the Abdullahi Mahadi Conference Hall on the university campus and was attended by dignitaries from various sectors, including traditional rulers and political leaders. The event commenced and concluded peacefully.
