COAS Commissions Special Civil–Military Intervention Projects in Sabon Gari, Zaria

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Waid Shaibu has commissioned Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects executed by Maj.-Gen. AGL Haruna at Palladan in Sabon Gari Local Govt..

Shaibu was represented by GOC 1 Division Nigerian Army Maj. Gen. Abubakar Sadiq Wase restated the commitment of Nigerian Army to pursue both kinetic and non-kinetic lines of operations. 

The Army Chief said the  initiative was also geared towards complementing the infrastructural development efforts of government, particularly for communities tied to senior officers who have risen to the rank of Major General.

He noted that the special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects, provides an opportunity for the Nigerian Army to deploy its non-kinetic efforts to strengthen civil-military relations and foster community development. 

General Shaibu said, it is fitting that the Army is honouring the illustrious son by commissioning the project under his special intervention Civil- Military Cooperation project.

He said, the concept of the COAS  special intervention Civil Military intervention projects was conceived to support communities of Senior Officers of the Nigerian Army who through diligence, commitment and selfless service, have attained the enviable rank of Major General. 
 
According to him the Project is carefully conceived and executed in close consultation with the benefiting communities to ensure relevance and impact.

In his remarksthe Commander Nigerian Army Training Centre Kontagora Major General  AGL Haruna said he selected GSS Palladan to allow his community to benefit from the civil military corporation and intervention projects.

General Haruna said, paying back to the community is a very good thinking and it strengthen the long existing relationship and it will be impact on the younger generations including complementing comfortable teaching and learning environment for teachers and students of the schoolà

According to him,Palladan is one of the oldest  communities in Zaria which is in dire need of developmental projects such ss Link roads to Layin Zomo , portable water as most wells which were the main source of water have been dried up.  

He thank the COAS for his support from the begging of the projects which will make meaningful impact to the community.

In his remarks the Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmed  Nuhu Bamalli commended the army for initiative and tasks the benefiting community and the school management to  judicious use of the project.

Bamalli who was represented by the Fagachin Zazzau Alhaji Umar Mohammed noted that Zazzau Emirate was a host to key training institutions for the army and police appeals for more projects that will strengthen collaboration between communities and security agencies.
