The Chairman Al- Muntazar Foundation Dr. Sajjad Abubakar Nasir called on those hiding behind religion to course violence to rethink and allow peace and love to exist between people of different faith.
He made the call at a 2 days Seminar on Interfaith peace building organised by Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for peace (COF) in collaboration with Al- Muntazar Foundation, Zaria held at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria.
Dr. Sajjad Abubakar Nasir said, without peace there will be no progress and development in our society.
According to him, the essence of the meeting is to revived the long existence of mutual co-existance between Muslims and Christians leaving together.
He explained that no religion has allowed fight other religion becouse of different religion ideology.
The theme of the Seminar is " Fostering Peaceful Co-existance In Religious Diversity In Zazzau Emirate".
Also speaking, Mr. Samson Auta of interfaith Mediating Centre Kaduna said, the Seminar is focusing on how Muslims and Christians can leave and work together peacefully as well help each other.
Auta said peace is paramount, without peace their will be no interfaith and even opportunity zo serve God will not be easily.
According to him, the misconceptions of religious leaders for their selfish interest is the main courses of violence among different faithful.
He added that corrupt practices have divided Nigerians which denied them meaningful developments as everything has been politicized.
The Chief Imam of Waff Road mosque forum Kaduna Sheikh Muhammad Sani Isah urged Muslims and Christians to follow the teachings of their holy books and embrace each other as enshrined on those holy books.
Sheikh Isah identified lack of proper knowledge of religion, misconception on building issues on a mindset and politics is playing a big role by politicizing religion for their personal gains.
