The leader of the Islamic movement, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating inferno that gutted Singer Market in Kano earlier this week.
In a statement issued by his office on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Sheikh Zakzaky described the incident as a “heart-touching trial,” extending his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and to traders who suffered the loss of goods and property. He also sympathised with victims of the previous fire outbreak that occurred on February 2.
The cleric prayed for patience, strength, and resilience for the affected traders and their families during this difficult period, assuring them of the Islamic movement’s solidarity and continued support.
