Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritising education as the bedrock for societal growth and sustainable development.
The governor made this known during the 6th Qur’anic graduation ceremony of Makkah Salafiyya Academy, Samaru, Zaria, where students were celebrated for successfully completing the memorisation of the Holy Qur’an.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdulkadir Mu’azu Meyere, Governor Sani emphasised that education remains the foundation of human existence and the guiding light toward progress.
“Education is the pillar of life and the light that guides society towards development. Our administration will continue to prioritise education while strengthening other critical sectors that enhance the wellbeing of our people,” he stated.
He commended the Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government and ALGON Chairman in Kaduna State, Hon. Jameelu Abubakar Albani, for his consistent support toward educational development in the area, noting that such efforts significantly contribute to community growth and social stability.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of Jama'atu Izalatul Bid'ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah, Sheikh Bala Lau, highlighted the honour and spiritual significance of Qur’an memorizers (Huffaz), describing them as vital instruments of peace and moral guidance in society.
He urged parents to enrol their children in similar institutions to build a morally sound and peaceful community.
The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Dahiru Liman, also underscored the indispensable role of teachers in shaping character, promoting enduring peace, strengthening the economy, and expanding access to knowledge.
Similarly, the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, expressed appreciation to Islamic scholars for their tireless dedication, which has yielded remarkable results.
He called on citizens to continue praying for lasting peace in Kaduna State and Nigeria, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
He further encouraged the pursuit of both religious and western education for a balanced and meaningful life.
Dallatun Zazzau, Dr. Mukhtar Ramadan Yaro, advised the graduating students to intensify their efforts in acquiring broader knowledge beyond religious studies to expand their intellectual horizons.
Also speaking, Hon. Jameelu Abubakar Albani congratulated the graduates and their families, describing the achievement as a milestone not only for the students but for the entire community.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting both Islamic and Western education, stressing that education remains the foundation for peace, unity, and sustainable development.
He expressed gratitude to all dignitaries in attendance and offered special appreciation to his father for donating the land on which the school was established, praying for divine reward.
The ceremony featured melodious Qur’anic recitations by the graduating students, presentation of certificates and gifts to the Huffaz, and special prayers for leaders, Kaduna State, and Nigeria.
Among the graduates, Al’husai Sani thanked Allah, his teachers, and his parents for their support, while A’isha Muhammad expressed joy over her accomplishment and pledged to continue seeking knowledge throughout her lifetime.
The event attracted prominent Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, government officials, and dignitaries, including Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Saddiq Ango Abdullahi; APC National Vice Chairman (North-West), Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad Babawo; Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Rt. Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali; state lawmakers; local government chairmen; and other stakeholders from across Kaduna State and beyond.
