A community-based organization, Ambassadors of Zazzau Legacy Imprints, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting humanitarian and community development initiatives across Zazzau and beyond.
The President of the movement, Ambassador Nuruddeen Nuruddeen Sambo, who is also a lecturer at the Federal University of Education, Zaria and Deputy Director at the institution’s Directorate of Professional Diploma in Education, disclosed this during an interview shortly after the inauguration of one of the group’s patrons.
Ambassador Sambo explained that Azli, an acronym for Ambassadors of Zazzau Legacy Imprint, was established to identify, recognize, and celebrate individuals who have left remarkable legacies in the community.
He revealed that the movement recently inaugurated Hon. Sani Mahmoud Sha'aban, Ɗan Buram Zazzau and Barden Keffi, as one of its patrons.
According to him, although the patron was unable to attend the general inauguration ceremony earlier, a special event was organized in his honour.
“We discussed many issues that are vital to the progress of this movement, and we all left with smiles on our faces because of his generous offers and commitment to supporting the less privileged in our community,” he said.
Ambassador Sambo noted that the movement was founded on three core visions.
First, to identify individuals who have positively impacted society through their service and leadership.
Second, to recognize and appreciate their contributions publicly.
Third, to mobilize community members to witness and uphold these legacies as inspiration for future generations.
He cited examples of distinguished personalities whose contributions have significantly shaped the development of Zazzau, including Dr. M.I. Maccido, a former Provost of the Federal College of Education, Zaria, who reportedly facilitated employment opportunities for over 3,000 people, and Professor Shafi'u Muhammad, who also contributed immensely by providing thousands of job opportunities within the community.
Describing Azli as “a movement for all,” Ambassador Sambo emphasized that the organization does not belong to any individual or political interest but is open to everyone willing to serve humanity.
“We initiated this movement not because we are above anyone or because we have much, but because we have little to offer to society.
We are calling on people in Zazzau, Kaduna State, and across Nigeria to embrace this initiative and join hands in helping the helpless through humanitarian and community services,” he stated.
He added that the movement carefully selects its patrons and matrons to ensure they provide proper guidance and mentorship in achieving its goals.
The Azli Movement continues to position itself as a platform for promoting unity, service, and sustainable community empowerment in Zazzau and beyond.
