The Federal Fire Service, Zaria Area Command, executed a swift emergency response following a fire outbreak reported at approximately 04:30 hours on Monday, March 23, 2026, at No. 4 Abdu Na Mairo, behind ABU Quarters, Jushi, Zaria LGA, Kaduna State.
In a Press release issued by ASF II Kamaluddeen Shehu, Public Relations Officer of the Command said, Preliminary findings indicate that the fire was ignited by an electric surge.
The incident affected two apartments with eight bedrooms, covering an estimated area of 100×100 ft, belonging to Alhaji Mika'ilu Ibrahim Fagacci, and used for residential purposes.
Upon receiving the distress call from ASF Abubakar Abbas, firefighting personnel were immediately mobilized and deployed under the leadership of DSF Abubakar Muhammad. Upon arrival, the crew conducted a rapid size-up and initiated an aggressive fire suppression operation, deploying one medium jet of water from Fire Appliance FFS 195.
The coordinated firefighting effort successfully contained and extinguished the blaze, preventing further escalation.
The swift tactical intervention of the Federal Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent structures, safeguarding properties valued at approximately ₦100 million.
No casualties or loss of life were recorded.
