The Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government and ALGON Chairman in Kaduna State, Hon. Sheikh Jamilu Abubakar Albani, has successfully hosted the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr Hawan Bariki in honour of His Highness, Nuhu Ahmad Bamalli, at the historic Zaria Polo Field.
The colourful and culturally rich event drew dignitaries from across Kaduna State and beyond, reaffirming the enduring heritage, unity, and pride of the Zazzau Emirate.
In a statement signed by Hon. Aminu Abu Zayd, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, the event was described as a symbol of unity, cultural pride, and sustained collaboration between government and traditional institutions.
The statement further highlighted that the Hawan Bariki remains a vital platform for strengthening peaceful coexistence and promoting the rich traditions of the Zazzau Emirate.
Representing the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, the Deputy Governor, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, praised the people of Sabon Gari and the wider Zazzau Emirate for sustaining their traditions and promoting peaceful coexistence among diverse communities.
She reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting cultural activities that enhance unity, peace, and socio-economic development.
The event featured a spectacular display of horsemanship, vibrant traditional attire, and a majestic royal procession, all reflecting the enduring legacy and prestige of the Zazzau Emirate.
