Dauda Ali Biu: From FRSC Officer to Corps Marshal and Community Leader

Dauda Ali Biu, FCNA, CPA, NPoM, is a distinguished officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who rose through the ranks to become Corps Marshal, the highest-ranking position in Nigeria’s road safety agency.

Born in Zaria, Kaduna State, Dauda Ali Biu hails from Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State. He joined the Federal Road Safety Corps in 1988 and spent many years serving the organisation with dedication, commitment and professionalism.

Throughout his career, he held several key positions within the FRSC, including Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Finance and Accounts at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja. On July 25, 2022, he assumed leadership of the FRSC as Acting Corps Marshal following the completion of the tenure of Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi.

Later, in December 2022, former President Muhammadu Buhari approved his appointment as the substantive Corps Marshal. He became the second career FRSC officer to rise from within the organisation to the position of Corps Marshal. He served as the head of the agency from 2022 to 2024.

In the area of education, Dauda Ali Biu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

During his tenure as Corps Marshal, he focused on strengthening the operations of the FRSC, improving collaboration with other government agencies and promoting the use of modern technology to enhance road safety and protect road users across Nigeria.

After leaving office as Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu continued to contribute to society as a prominent Nigerian and community leader. In 2025, he was honoured with the traditional title of Jagaban Sabon Gari, in recognition of his contributions to the community and his years of service to the nation.

Dauda Ali Biu remains one of the notable officers who rose through the ranks of the FRSC to attain the position of Corps Marshal, making his career an important part of the history of the organisation.
His journey from a young FRSC officer to the highest leadership position in the agency reflects years of dedication, professionalism and service to the nation and community.
