Madrasatul Madinatul Ahbab Nursery and Primary School, Kakuri, Kaduna State, has held its 30th Qur’an Graduation (Walimat Saukar Al-Qur’an) ceremony.
The event took place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the school premises along Dawakin Bassa Road, Kakuri.
Speaking with Daily Naija Updates, the National and International Head of Madrasatul Madinatul Ahbab Schools, Khalifah Shaikh Dayyid Shaikh Haruna Rasheed, called on wealthy individuals in society to devote part of their resources to supporting the development of Islamic schools.
He emphasized the importance of assisting such institutions, noting that doing so attracts great rewards in this world and in the Hereafter.
According to him, this is a vital means of supporting Islam and promoting the growth and moral strength of the Muslim community as a whole.
He also urged leaders in positions of authority to pay special attention to Islamic schools, stressing that students trained in such institutions are known for good morals and discipline.
He added that this contributes to peaceful coexistence between society and government and helps in producing responsible and admirable citizens.
Furthermore, he advised parents to remain committed to the proper upbringing of their children and to provide them with quality education.
He described it as a great blessing for parents to see their children among those Allah has favored with knowledge of the Glorious Qur’an, adding that religious education is the greatest legacy a parent can give to a child, especially in the present times.
In his remarks, Alhaji Shehu Tijjani, the Chiroman Zazzau and District Head of Makera, who was represented by the Magajin Kakuri, Alhaji Nura Muhammad Sadau, urged young people to rise up and seek religious knowledge in order to understand how to worship Allah (SWT) properly.
Similarly, Engineer Shehu Abubakar, one of the school’s alumni, expressed gratitude to Allah (SWT) for the steady progress of the school, particularly in terms of the increasing number of students and teachers.
He noted that parents have come to appreciate the importance of enrolling their children in the school, considering the relevance of education and the modern teaching methods adopted.
He also encouraged former students to remain committed to the values instilled by the school and to serve as good ambassadors while working collectively for its advancement.
On his part, the Headmaster of the school, Malam Salisu Ibrahim Daura, stated that since its establishment over forty years ago, the school has recorded numerous achievements in the areas of child upbringing and education.
However, he pointed out that the school faces challenges, especially the failure of some parents to fulfill their financial obligations as agreed at the time of enrolling their children, a situation that negatively affects teachers’ welfare.
During the ceremony, 30 students were graduated after completing the recitation of the Glorious Qur’an. Some of the graduating students, including Zannura Muhammad and Amina Lawal, expressed their joy and gratitude to Allah for the remarkable achievement.
The event was well attended by teachers, students, parents, and other members of the community.
