The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Prof Sheikh Nazir Muhammad Ayyad has pledged commitment to support Nigerian Islamiyya schools with facilities and learning materials to enhance quality delivery of knowledge.
The Mufti who is the second in command in Egyptian supreme Islamic affairs made the pledge when he received a Nigerian Sheikh and Director , Nurut tilawah International School Zaria, Nuruddeen Umar Tahir at his office, Darul Ifta'i in Alqahira, Egypt.
Prof Sheikh Ayyad who appreciated the laudable performance of Nigerians at various Quranic recitation competitions across the globe, praised Nurut tilawah International School, Zaria for taking the lead in Qur'anic and Islamic activities.
The reveared Sheikh said "I will support you in every way possible to enhance Qur'anic education and other Islamic disciplines and jurisprudence for the enhancement of quality knowledge and moral teaching.
"These assistance will be rendered not only to Nigerian schools but Africa at large." He said.
The Grand Mufti prayed that Muslims in Nigeria and Africa will not relent in the propagation of Islamic with more emphasis on Quranic education especially to the younger generation.
He expressed commitment to render any support and assistance required for the overall development of education and Islamic religion as a whole.
Earlier, Sheikh Nuruddeen Umar Tahir, Director, Nurut tilawah International School, Zaria said he was honoured on the invitation of the Grand Mufti to pay him a visit.
He expressed delight that such an important Islamic personality will attend to him and pledges support to the Nigerian Islamic schools.
Nuruddeen Tahir assured the Mufti of his readiness to collaborate with Darul Ifta'i for the development of education and Qur'anic knowledge.
The Director stated that Nurut tilawah school has a record of good performance in Quranic competitions around the globe, stressing that the students were always ready in the quest for knowledge.
Tahir said with the support and boost from the Grand Mufti, the school will continue to propel in the dissemination of sound quality religious education.
