FFS ZARIA AREA COMMAND PROMPTLY CONTAINS FIRE OUTBREAK; ₦11 MILLION WORTH OF PROPERTY SAVED

The Federal Fire Service, Zaria Area Command, responded promptly to a fire outbreak in the early hours of Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at about 15:15 hours, at Kofan Kona, opposite Kogoro, Kogoro Road, Zaria LGA, Kaduna State.

In  a Press release issued by ASF II Kamaluddeen Shehu, Public Relations Officer of the Command said, the  fire outbreak, the cause of which remains unknown, affected a two-bedroom bungalow belonging to Mal. Ibrahim Abba Alqari, used for residential purposes, covering an estimated area of 50 x 50 ft.

Upon receipt of a distress call from Asiya Zakariyya, firefighting personnel were immediately deployed to the scene under the leadership of ASF II Yunusa Umar. The crew swiftly and effectively deployed one medium jet of water from Fire Appliance FFS 195, successfully containing and extinguishing the fire.

The timely intervention of the Federal Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining structures, thereby saving properties valued at approximately ₦11 million.

No casualties or loss of life were recorded.
