Zaria Councillor Urges Colleagues to Prioritize Community Development

By Hassan Ibrahim

A councillor representing Dutsen Abba Ward in Zaria Local Government Area, Abdullahi Saleh Abubakar, has called on his fellow councillors to intensify efforts toward bringing meaningful development to the communities they represent.

Abubakar made the call during an interview with newsmen shortly after receiving, award from Taskira newspaper stressing that as elected representatives, councillors must strengthen their relationship with the people by listening to their concerns and working toward addressing their challenges whenever the need arises.

He noted that the Zaria Local Government Legislative Council, under the leadership of Mohammed Auwal Balarabe, councillor representing Limancin Kona Ward, alongside the Majority Leader, Adamu Jibrin Mohammed, councillor representing Gyallesu Ward, has been working collectively with other councillors to promote development within the local government.

According to him, the third legislative council of Zaria Local Government has successfully passed nearly ten laws within less than a year after the bills went through first and second readings and public hearings.

Abubakar stated that the achievements recorded by the council within such a short period have made the Zaria Local Government Legislative Council stand out among the 23 local government councils in Kaduna State.

He therefore advised residents of Dutsen Abba Ward to remain patient and continue to support their leaders in order to facilitate the provision of more social amenities and developmental projects in the area.
