Alhaji Mahmud Sani Shaaban Danburam Zazzau, Barden Keffi and former governorship candidate of Kaduna State under the ADC, has described the tenth-day Ramadan Iftar at the Palace of the Zazzau Emirate as a historic and unifying moment for the people of Zazzau.

Danburam made the remarks during the annual Ramadan gathering traditionally hosted at the palace of the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, in Zaria.

Speaking at the event, he said the occasion marked a special day for every indigene of Zazzau, both at home and in the diaspora, noting that it brought together people from all walks of life who trace their roots to the legendary Emirate.

“Today is a wonderful day for every indigene of Zazzau, wherever they may be. It is a culmination of various groups of people who originate from the Zazzau Emirate — a historic kingdom that has produced many renowned Africans, not only in Nigeria but across the continent,” he said.

According to him, the gathering reflected the unity and inclusiveness that define the Emirate, as prominent personalities, community leaders, and the less privileged sat side by side in an atmosphere of celebration and brotherhood.

He noted that the event provided an opportunity for indigenes to reconnect, support those in need, and appreciate individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of society.

Danburam expressed pride in the leadership of the Emir, describing the initiative as a demonstration of foresight, wisdom, and a deep understanding of modern trends in community engagement.
“When you speak of royalty anywhere in the world, you cannot count Zaria out. The Zazzau Emirate remains a symbol of tradition, excellence, and global relevance,” he added.

The annual Ramadan Iftar at the palace continues to serve as a platform for strengthening unity, promoting mutual understanding, and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Zazzau Emirate.
