The District Head of Sabon Gari Dan Barhin Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmad Bashar Aminu, has confirmed the appointment of Hon. Hassan Salihu Sandas as the new Mai Unguwar GRA in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The appointment was formally confirmed on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the office of the District Head of Sabon Gari, in the presence of family members, friends, community leaders and well-wishers who gathered to witness the ceremony and congratulate the new traditional title holder.
Hon. Hassan Salihu Sandas previously served as the Dan Rimin GRA before his elevation to the position of Mai Unguwar GRA. His new responsibility places him in a position to work closely with residents and other traditional and community stakeholders in addressing issues affecting the area.
Speaking shortly after the appointment, Hon. Sandas expressed appreciation to the District Head of Sabon Gari for the confidence reposed in him, assuring that he would justify the trust placed in him through dedicated service to the community.
He pledged to continue contributing to the development of the community in various areas, particularly by promoting peace, unity, cooperation and initiatives that would improve the well-being of residents.
The new GRA Ward Head also thanked his family members, friends and well-wishers for their presence and support, describing their attendance at the ceremony as a source of encouragement as he begins his new responsibilities.
Hon. Sandas further called on residents to cooperate with him and provide the necessary support whenever the need arises, assuring that he would remain open to their concerns and work with relevant stakeholders towards finding solutions to issues affecting the community.
He also expressed his profound gratitude to the District Head of Sabon Gari, Alhaji Ahmad Bashar Aminu, for approving his appointment and giving him the opportunity to serve the people of GRA.
The appointment is expected to further strengthen traditional and community-level leadership in the GRA area of Sabon Gari Local Government.
