Justice Kabir Dabo of the High Court of Justice, Kaduna State, Zaria Judicial Division, has adjourned to January 15, 2026, the continuation of hearing in a property ownership suit filed by Ahmed Muhammed Gusau against Senator Abdu Kwari and Shehu Abdu Kwari.
The case, which came up for hearing on October 12, 2025, involves allegations of conspiracy and fraudulent dealings in connection with the sale and ownership of a parcel of land located at Kabama Area, Sabon Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State.
At the resumed session, the plaintiff, Ahmed Muhammed Gusau, presented before the court a Deed of Assignment and other land documents as proof of his lawful ownership of the disputed property.
The Deed of Assignment, prepared by Bashir Musa & Associates (Barristers and Solicitors), identifies Gusau — referred to in the document as the Assignor — as the registered holder and lawful owner of the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for Plot No. 77105, Kabama Layout /02, Hanwa, Sabon Gari Local Government Area, issued under the authority of the Executive Governor of Kaduna State.
The document further records a legal transaction between Ahmed Muhammed Gusau and Hajiya Amina Dalhatu Akilu, the Assignee, confirming that the property was duly transferred under the Land Use Act CAP L5, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
During proceedings, counsel to the defendant, Barrister Bashir Musa, argued that the plaintiff’s claims were inconsistent and that the alleged documents tendered should be subjected to proper verification to ascertain their authenticity.
He informed the court that the defence had filed a motion on notice seeking to set aside an earlier Ex-Parte interim injunction granted against the defendants by the same court in September 2025, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
After hearing submissions from both parties, Justice Kabir Dabo adjourned the case to January 15, 2026, to enable continuation of proceedings and further presentation of arguments.
