Niger State has called on investors and business owners to take advantage of its vast opportunities in tourism, agriculture, commerce, and natural resources as it participates in the 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair held at the Trade Fair Complex, Riga Chikun, Kaduna State.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ladidi Rakiya Bawa Bosso, stated that the state is endowed with numerous historical and tourist attractions, including Zungeru, a town known for its historical significance as Nigeria’s former administrative headquarters during the colonial era.
She explained that the state government is working to revive major historical sites, including the legacy of renowned Nigerian potter Ladi Kwali, whose works gained international recognition.
According to her, Ladi Kwali’s pottery products command high value in international markets, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Niger State.
Hon. Ladidi further noted that the state possesses a wide range of traditional and agricultural products, including organic shea butter produced without chemicals, as well as various food crops and locally made goods.
She added that the state’s pavilion at the trade fair has attracted large numbers of visitors interested in purchasing products and exploring investment opportunities.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. Arafat Haruna Magaji, said the emergence of a new governor has brought renewed commitment toward revitalizing industry, agriculture, and commerce in order to restore the state’s economic strength.
He emphasized that Niger State has vast fertile land suitable for farming rice, soybeans, yam, and other crops, in addition to rich mineral resources and high-quality shea butter production.
He described the trade fair as an opportunity to showcase the state’s economic potential to the world.
The Commissioner stressed that Niger State offers one of the best environments for quality shea butter production and invited investors to explore the state’s favorable business climate and economic reforms.
He concluded by stating that the goal is to attract global attention, increase revenue generation for both the state and the country, and demonstrate that “Niger State has taken a new direction and is fully prepared for sustainable development.”
