FUE Zaria Gets 43 New Professors, 15 Readers

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, at its 2026 First Quarter Meeting held on 13th April, 2026, chaired by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Amb. Baba Ahmad Jidda (OFR), has approved the promotion of forty-three (43) lecturers to the rank of Professor and fifteen (15) lecturers to the rank of Reader.

A statement from the public relations and protocol unit of the university said the first set of the promoted Professors include:

2. Dr. Onwunali Martins Royal O. – Professor of Crop Protection

3. Dr. Maikano Amos – Professor of Animal Science

4. Dr. Mahmud Abdurrahman Alhaji – Professor of Science Education

5. Dr. (Mrs.) Sani Amina – Professor of Entrepreneurship

6. Dr. Tunde Joel Adeshina – Professor of Business Education

7. Dr. Ilesanmi Ajibola Gabriel – Professor of Systematic Theology

8. Dr. Ikechiamaka Lucky Oduagwu – Professor of Biblical Studies

9. Dr. Sa’eed Adewusi Gbolahan – Professor of Analytical Chemistry

7. Dr. Akut Yakubu Bobai – Reader on Geography

8. Dr. (Mrs.) Onyewuotu Georgina Nwamara – Reader on Guidance and Counselling

9. Dr. (Mrs.) Ojo Modupe Comfort – Reader on Textile Science

10. Dr. (Mrs.) Ahmed Rakiya – Reader on Management Sciences

The statement said the Council enjoins the promoted lecturers to continue with their good services to the University and humanity in general.
